OK, I was really torn between Harriet Tubman and Nelson Mandela until Rob chimed in. I didn't even know who Liviu Lebrescu was, but I have to say, not that what he's done overshadows Harriet or Nelson, but in light of Solzheitsyn's passing, and sticking it to the man, I think Rob's answer wins.
Oh my goodness, I felt like my heart was cut out all over again when I read this. I remember how heartbroken I was when this happened. Thanks for the reminder Rob :(
